Pain Rebels History
The Pain Rebels biohacking system has been a passion project for over a decade, created by founder Jill Casey.
Frustrated by the judgmental, condescending, and unhelpful self-help, therapeutic interventions, and training available for chronic pain, Jill set out to do something entirely different. She applied her passion for science and her focus on pain to scour pain research. She gleaned important insights from methods that altered biological systems, ensuring these methods were measured with well-established tools like blood tests, fMRI, EMG, and EEG.
Originally presented in the book Master Your Pain and online as The Mastering Pain Method, the core biohacking skills have remained largely intact due to their strong track record and immediate results.
Despite the approach's successes, it was hard for people to learn without 1:1 coaching. So, Jill spent the last several years improving the delivery and packaging of the complicated concepts of pain biology, pathophysiology, and biohacking. Through this improvement process, she created concepts like The Four Parts of Pain and The Nine Foundational Skills while focusing heavily on empowering and non-stigmatizing language.
The old Mastering Pain Method has glowed up into what it is now: Pain Rebels.
